39th CCMM–CSN Congress

The 39th congress of the Conseil central du Montréal métropolitain – CSN (CCMM‒CSN) was held from May 5 to 9, 2025, at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. To truly express our fighting spirit, its theme was “On the Offensive!” At a time when right-wing forces are increasingly organized and powerful, we too must organize ourselves for the fight to not only defend our gains, but above all to advance the cause of workers!
The triennial congress of the central council is the highlight of our democratic life. The participation of all affiliated unions is essential to ensure that the resolutions and orientations adopted at the congress reflect both their needs and aspirations.

Held from June 6 to 10, 2022, at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, the 38th CCMM–CSN congress brought together affiliated unions around the theme “Solidarity, in all circumstances.” In a context marked by numerous social and economic challenges, this triennial event reaffirmed the collective strength of the Montreal union movement. At the heart of the discussions: the environment, occupational health and safety, the fight against systemic racism, social rights, and mobilization. For the first time, a thematic dinner on international solidarity was also organized. True to its democratic vocation, the congress allowed for the adoption of new orientations, the election of political representatives, as well as sustained dialogue with allies from civil society. A powerful moment, both for reflection and commitment, to shape the future of the Central Council together.
