Initiation to Health and Safety Training
Description:
This training is the starting point for the occupational health and safety training program. It was designed to raise awareness among activists, including members of the executive committee, of the importance of advocating and taking action to improve health and safety in the workplace, and to develop their ability to address the various health and safety issues they face.
Thus, participants learn how to observe their workplace to eliminate hazards at the source, how to compile a case file, and how to prepare for meetings with the employer. They will become familiar with the laws governing health and safety, understand their role and the tasks assigned to the union, and better organize themselves within the union to address health and safety issues.
Finally, to make health and safety at work a priority and a union issue, the training aims to transmit the reflex of union action with the necessary tools to achieve it and the desire to commit to improving health and safety conditions at work in one’s environment.
The 2-day training will take place at 1601 Avenue de Lorimier, Montreal.
